Dearest Readers,

In light of the significant increase in hate crimes against our fellow Asian Americans, I have linked a list of resources for action against Anti-Asian Violence. This webpage contains everything from websites educating on these hate crimes to groups raising awareness, mental health information, and information on where to report an incident.

Many of us as mixed Asians are “white-passing,” and because of this, I ask you to please be vigilant. Watch out for our friends and family members who fear being the target of a hate crime. This can be as simple as walking with your friend or family member to make sure they aren’t traveling alone.

We also have some very exciting news. Hapa Mag is now accepting submissions for the first annual Mixed Asian Media Festival (MAMF), a celebration of mixed Asian and Pacific Islanders in creative art forms, including but not limited to: film, theatre, art, dance, and more. To submit, please visit Film Freeway. This festival will be a virtual event September 15-19, 2021, so mark your calendars.

In conjunction with MAMF, Hapa Mag will officially be rebranding to Mixed Asian Media (MAM) in hopes of being more inclusive and mindful of our ever-expanding mixed API community.
