Dear Readers, 

Our Constitution is in jeopardy. We here at Hapa Mag want to encourage you to vote and vote early in the upcoming elections. 

No matter your political stance or affiliation, it’s of the utmost importance to vote, and to vote Trump out. I encourage you to fact-check your news resources. Our rights are being taken away; we can no longer protest in the streets peacefully without fear of being arrested, harmed, or killed. Our right to freedom of speech is being silenced. Our very basic, human rights will become non-existent, and eventually it will affect you, regardless of whether you are a Democrat, Republican, or other. 

All of this, and more, is the reason why Hapa Mag is proud to endorse Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States.

I would like to leave you with this poem by Martin Niemöller. It resonates now, just as it did in 1942.

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out — because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out — because I was not a Jew.”
