Naomi Osaka has been making headlines for the past few years as the first Japanese tennis player to win a singles Grand Slam title. She is currently the number 1 women's singles player in the world. She famously beat Serena Williams during the 2018 US Open in a controversial game.

Osaka is half-Haitian and half-Japanese. She was born in Japan, grew up in the U.S. and represents Japan in her tournaments. She even has dual citizenship with the U.S. and Japan. But she has also spent time on social media and in interviews reminding everyone that her Haitian side is just as valuable and important. Osaka, just like Ariana Miyamoto, is a reminder that both sides of a mixed-race person need to be celebrated and supported.

Naomi Osaka will continue to make waves and make history in the years to come. Read more about her here.
