Growing up, I never saw anyone who looked like me playing in a band, writing music, or singing songs. That's why I play in a band, write music, and sing songs.

We have been a band since 2012 and it's always been fun, hilarious, and a little weird. We recorded this album in three days in Minneapolis because that's where we could get free studio time. This band is truly democratic. We all put equal time and energy into it and are proud of the work we did on this album. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it.

Combining the pop sensibilities of Depeche Mode and the garage mentality of The Replacements, Matthew Gunn Park and Andy Hopper split the duties of frontman and tunesmith as they "rejoice in riding the schism between the familiar and the unusual" while delivering "persuasive vocals and infectious melodies." Along with drummer Paddy Murphy, Katie's Money "spends a good deal of its time navigating the divide between the playful and the sincere, the complex and the simple. That it does so employing upbeat melodies and seductive harmonies renders it all the more potent."
