Australian Filipino artist Hannah Bailey was on the other side of the world in NYC while Australia burned this summer. Overwhelmed and frustrated by the catastrophe, she and Hell’s Kitchen singer-songwriter Evan Crommett created a song about the devastation that so many have felt during this time. “Do You Want That?” examines the increasing tangibility of our own existence and the helplessness we feel in the face of it.

The single was released for purchase in February 2020, and 100% of the proceeds are being donated directly to the Disaster Relief and Recovery fund of the Australian Red Cross, which is working to provide recovery programs and emergency assistance to communities in disaster-affected areas. In its first week the campaign raised almost $600 (AUD $1,000).

This bushfire season saw the loss of more than 18.6 million hectares of land and over a billion animals. Several endangered Australian species are at risk of total extinction. Over 5,900 buildings (including 2,779 homes) have been destroyed, and at least 34 people have died. The damage is unprecedented, and we won’t know its full extent for years to come.

Along with the fully produced track, the live-recorded music video is available on YouTube.
