“Hi, Sam and Matt here. We’re two brothers born and raised in Hawaii, now living in the mainland. Our brand name is Island Heart. We create island inspired apparel and accessories made from the heart with aloha. We hope our products, stories, and designs, gift you a little taste of the islands and inspire you to share Aloha wherever you go.”
Check out the Island Heart Etsy shop, started by these two Hapa brothers. Sam and Matt’s designs are inspired by love for their culture, family, friends, and island home. In fact, much of their inspiration is drawn from the unique beauty of Hawaii. Their artistry skills are as diverse as their heritage. Between the two of them, they share over 10 years of photography and videography experience and over 30 years as performing artists. All of their past experiences work together to inform and elevate their work.
The pandemic has recently allowed these brothers the opportunity and time to discover a passion for creating and sharing their brand. Amidst the chaos and division in the world today, they want to inspire unity, love, and aloha through Island Heart.
When asked what their favorite holiday tradition is, they responded, “Anything that involves food! Growing up in Hawaii, during Thanksgiving we would have the traditional Thanksgiving meal — complete with turkey, gravy, stuffing, mash potatoes and so on. But, because we're such a melting pot of different cultures, we'd also have sushi, kalua pig, lumpia, and kim-chee on the table as well.”
Their Etsy store has a wide variety of designs and artwork on our products. Some of Sam and Matt’s favorites come from the Elements, Island Snack, Navigator, Iwa Bird, and Ohana Collections.
